NHS Birmingham and Solihull has successfully signed up to the Government’s Disability Confident scheme, which supports employers to think differently about disability, and improve how they attract, recruit and retain disabled workers.
Being Disability Confident is an opportunity for NHS Birmingham and Solihull to lead the way in Birmingham and Solihull, and we are proud to announce that we have achieved the Disability Confident employer status
Through Disability Confident, thousands of employers are challenging attitudes towards disability and increasing understanding, as well as removing barriers to disabled people and those with long-term health conditions and ensuring that disabled people have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.
The scheme has three levels:
Our commitment to the scheme means that whether an employee becomes disabled during their working life, or as we look to recruit to roles, NHS Birmingham and Solihull will embrace the Disability Confident ethos by helping to positively change attitudes, behaviours and cultures. This means we will be able to draw from the widest possible pool of talent and secure and retain high quality staff.
