A long term conditions prevention week is being held by partners across Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System (ICS).
From Monday 4 July to Friday 8 July, a mobile unit will be visiting sites in Birmingham and Solihull, with health and care staff on hand to offer advice and provide resources to assist members of the public with long term health conditions, including diabetes, stroke, lung disease, dementia, respiratory issues, heart disease and Long COVID.
Led by NHS Birmingham and Solihull, the Integrated Care Board of Birmingham and Solihull ICS, the aim of the long term conditions prevention week is to raise awareness of the support available to those affected by long term health conditions.
The mobile unit will be staffed by health professionals, such as nurses and dietitians, from organisations across Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System, including staff from NHS Birmingham and Solihull, Birmingham City Council, Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, and University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

Staff on site will be using the week as an opportunity to speak to people affected by long term health conditions, to find out what matters most to them.
The public can access help to manage long term conditions and improve their health by visiting the mobile unit at the following locations between 10am and 2pm:

- Tuesday 5 July: The Fort Shopping Centre, 20 Fort Pkwy, Birmingham, B24 9FP
- Wednesday 6 July: Longbridge Shopping Centre, 22 High Street, Birmingham, B31 2UQ
- Thursday 7 July: Asda, 341 Bosworth Drive, Chelmsley Wood, Solihull, B37 5EX
- Friday 8 July: Tesco Extra, 1505 Stratford Road, Solihull, B90 4EN
A long term condition is an illness that cannot be cured, and it can usually be controlled with medicines or other treatments. Within Birmingham and Solihull, there are services available to help people prevent or manage long term health conditions.
