Dr Subeena Suleman- GP Partner at Iridium Medical Practice and Clinical Director for Bordesley East Primary Care Network
Subeena is a forward-thinking, passionate and transformative leader who has been working as a GP since 2010 mainly in East Birmingham.
She became a Lead Executive Partner at Iridium Medical Practice in 2016, and is a firm believer in enabling and encouraging a culture driven by quality improvement and impactful outcomes delivery.
Subeena champions work around improving access to patients and reducing health inequalities, aided by her extensive experience of working in deprived areas.
She is Clinical Director for Bordesley East Primary Care Network, and since its inception has been leading on collaborative working across practices in the area ensuring at-scale working.
Subeena led a successful Covid-19 Vaccination Programme in an area with a low uptake and set up the first walk-in clinics across Birmingham and Solihull.
In the last two years, Subeena has led the East Locality, bringing six Primary Care Networks caring for over 250,000 patients. Her work cemented the formation of East Connect as a Community Integrated Care legal entity, creating a shift in culture to focus more on population health management within the locality.
Subeena also led the creation of a Locality Hub, integrating chronic disease pathways across the locality and leading work in Integrated Neighbourhood Teams. She is also leading the Right Access Transformative programme across primary care and is the Chair of the GP Provider Support Unit Steering Group. Subeena is currently a member of the GP Partnership Board for NHS Birmingham and Solihull ICS and an NHS Birmingham and Solihull ICB Primary Care Medical Services Partner Member.
